Rain likely over parts of country

Night temperature might remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Parts of the country will experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers for 24 hours until 9am tomorrow.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur," said a met office press release. 

"Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions and several places at Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions will experience moderately heavy to very heavy falls in the next 24 hours commencing from 9am today," the press release further said.

The release said mild heat wave conditions over Rangpur division and the regions of Rajshahi and Naogaon may abate during this period, and temperatures may fall by 1-2 degree Celsius.

Maximum temperature was recorded at 37.8 degree Celsius yesterday at Sayedpur in Rangpur, while today's minimum temperature was 24 degree Celsius at Rangamati in Chittagong.

As of 6am, the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded at 257mm at Rangamati.
