Committee formed to probe alleged HSC GPA- 5 irregularities

The report by Maasranga Television claimed that various officials were involved in irregularities regarding the HSC results

The Education Ministry has formed a four-member probe committee to investigate allegations of irregularities in HSC results, in response to a news report titled 'Selling GPA 5,' published by a private satellite channel of Bangladesh on Sunday.

Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Additional Secretary Md Mahamud-ul-Haq has been made the convener of the committee, said a press release issued on Monday.

The other members of the committee are Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE) Prof Yunus Ali, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Joint Secretary Ahmad Shamim-Al Razi, and Deputy Secretary Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain.

The committee has been asked to submit a report within the next seven working days.

The report by Maasranga Television claimed that various officials were involved in irregularities regarding the HSC results, including a deputy examination controller of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, a staff member, and some heads of educational institutions in the Uttara area.
