Amjad displayed the flag on Tuesday at the Nischintapur School ground, in the presence of German Embassy officials and a large crowd
Ajmad Hossain of Magura sold his land to make the 5km long flag of Germany ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will take place in Russia.
Amjad displayed the flag on Tuesday at the Nischintapur School ground, in the presence of German Embassy officials and a large crowd.
In 2014, he had made a 3.5km long flag by selling his land. At that time the Ambassador of Germany came to Magura to applaud him.
Amjad made this huge flag because of his love and support towards the German football team. He does not want anything in return.
A diplomat of German Embassy Caren Wezora said they are overwhelmed to see Amjad’s initiative.
The diplomat also mentioned it is not an easy task to build the largest flag of Germany in the world.
The diplomat will ensure all the necessary requirements, so that Amjad can visit Germany.
The diplomat expressed the desire that Bangladesh will soon play the football World Cup and Germany will win the upcoming final of the 2018 World Cup.
Education and Social Official of the German Embassy Tamara Kabir said: “Amjad has made an important sign of friendship between Bangladesh and Germany. I will talk with concerned authorities about the improvement of Bangladeshi football.”
Magura Additional Superintendent of Police Tarikul Islam also spoke on the occasion along with local dignitaries and political figures.
Apart from that, German Fan Club members from neighbouring districts attended the event.
