Obaidul: Road digging to be suspended for 15 days from June 8

The road renovation works in Gazipur and other parts of the country would remain suspended till June 21 to ease the Eid journeys, says the minister

Road digging and repair works across the country will remain suspended for 15 days from June 8 to ensure smooth journeys for Eid-ul-Fitr holidaymakers, says Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

He came up with the information while speaking at an interaction at the BRTC office in Dhaka’s Motijheel on Monday.

Obaidul said people had been suffering a lot due to the ongoing project taken by the city corporations and Wasa in the capital and the authorities concerned had been asked to suspend all kinds of digging work on roads till June 21.

Besides, the road renovation works in Gazipur and other parts of the country would remain suspended till June 21 to ease the Eid journeys, he added.

Besides, the minister said, Bangladesh Road Transport Authorities had been directed to take effective measures to stop vehicles from taking wrong sides on the road and prevent plying of unfit vehicles.
