He made the above comment while addressing a press conference on International Fire Safety and Security Expo – 2018 at Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU).
International Fire Safety and Security Expo – 2018 is a three-day long international fair on fire safety.
Ali Ahmed Khan said the building owners stand accused in most of the cases after any incident of fire. He alerted the owners to influence the engineers to design and develop the buildings.
He stressed on the need of designing the buildings properly to reduce the risk of fire and minimize the loss.
The fair will commence from Thursday at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre and gates will be open from 8am to 10pm. At least 30 countries will participate and there will be 60 stalls at the fair.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will inaugurate the ceremony as a chief guest.
The Fire Services and Civil Defence is the copartner of the fair where Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will participate as partners.
