The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to organize a series of program to observe the Corruption Prevention Week 2018 from March 26.
This year's slogan is “Bondho hole durniti, unnyone Asbe goti (development will gain speed if corruption is stopped), ACC said in a press release issued on Sunday.
The ACC has been observing the week every year from March 26 to April 1, since 2011.
Iqbal Mahmood, chairman of the anti graft watchdog, will inaugurate the week-long program at the commission head office in Dhaka on Monday.
He will also inaugurate a seven-day anti-graft cartoon exhibition at its media centre. The exhibition will be open for all from 9am to 5pm at its head office Segunbagicha.
ACC will distribute prizes among winners of the debate, composition, poster drawing and cartoon competition coming from different institution across Bangladesh to be held at National Theater Auditorium of Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro President Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed is expected to attend at the program.
The commission chairman will lead a human chain of its officials and employees in front of National Press Club at 10am on Wednesday.
Besides, ACC Media Award 2017 will be distributed for investigative and creative reports on anti corruption.
The award giving program will be held at the commission head office around 3pm. State Minister of Planning Ministry M A Mannan is expected to present in the program.
A discussion program will also be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Jatiya Natyashala auditorium on Thursday.
Members of metropolitans, districts and upazial level members of the corruption prevention committee will participate in the program where Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith would be present as chief guest.
On Friday, respected Imams will discuss about anti-corruption during the Khutba's discourse in all mosques across Bangladesh including National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.
On Saturday, ACC will hold rally and take oath with the members of "Satata Songh" (integrity store) at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood will also present in the program.
On April 01, a seminar will be held at the headquarter on accountable administration management is key to controller of Anti-Corruption and Resistance.
Dr Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Vice chancellor of University of Asia Pacific, will be present as chief guest while Iqbal Mahmood will preside over the program.
