Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) professor Dr Zafar Iqbal has been released from Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.
The eminent writer was given the release paper from the hospital around 10:30am on Wednesday, Assistant Director of Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Rezaul Karim Shammi said.
The officer said: "Dr Zafar Iqbal is completly recovered but he has been asked to take complete rest for the next seven days."
Joynal Abedin, the professor’s personal secretary, said: "He will leave for Sylhet on a private airlines flight in a while. He will join the university [SUST] today [Wednesday]."

The academic and eminent writer was undergoing treatment at the Critical Care Unit of Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka since March 3, when he was attacked at a program organized by the Shahjalal University’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Sylhet.
A youth named Foyzur Rahman Faizul was detained at the scene of the attack and later confessed to stabbing Dr Iqbal because he considered him to be “an enemy of Islam.”
