The Election Commission has finalized the draft for demarcating 38 parliamentary constituencies in 16 districts ahead of the upcoming parliamentary polls.
EC Secretary Helal Uddin said the changes were approved at a meeting presided over by Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Wednesday.
“Anyone dissatisfied with the changes has to file an application [seeking changes] by April 1,” Helal said.
“After scrutinizing the applications [if any], a gazette of 300 parliamentary constituencies will be published by April 30.”
The EC secretary changes were made to parliamentary constituencies in 2013 based on the 2011 census, and so there has not been a huge change this time around.
