The final registration process for the pilgrims who wish to perform Hajj this year under private management will begin on Tuesday.
M Shahadat Hossain, general secretary of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB), announced the schedule at a press briefing on Monday.
However, the last date for registration will be announced later, he added.
The cheapest package has been fixed at Tk 3,32,868, the HAAB general secretary said, adding that a further sum of Tk 11,000 would be charged if pilgrims wished to arrange for a sacrificial animal.
Those who performed Hajj in 2015, 2016 and 2017, as well as those who received Saudi visas last year but did not perform Hajj, have been asked to submit 2,100 Saudi Riyals (Tk46,935), if they want to perform Hajj this time.
Aspiring pilgrims will have to pay all of the money required to the Hajj agencies by April 15 this year.
On February 26, the cabinet approved the draft Hajj Package, 2018.
Earlier on February 22, the ministry published a list of serial numbers for Hajj pilgrims who will be able to enrol in the final registration this year.
Pilgrims have also been asked to submit scanned copies of passports during the e-Hajj registration process.
According to the Hajj agreement with Saudi Arabia, a total 127,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be able to perform Hajj this year. Among them, 7,198 will perform Hajj under government supervision while the remaining 120,000 shall conduct the pilgrimage through private agencies.
Hajj is likely to be held on August 21 this year, subject to the sighting of the moon.
