Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return home on Saturday after making a stopover in Abu Dhabi.
Ihsanul Karim, press secretary to the prime minister, on Thursday told UNB over phone from Abu Dhabi that Hasina reached the UAE capital earlier in the morning by an Etihad Airways flight from Rome, concluding her four-day official visit to Italy and Vatican City.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Mohammad Imran and senior officials received her at the airport.
The prime minister had departed Leonardo da-Vinci Fiumicino Airport in Rome for Abu Dhabi at 10am (local time). Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy Abdus Sobhan Sikder had seen her off.
In Italy, Hasina attended the annual Governing Council meeting of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) at the invitation of IFAD President Gilbert F Houngbo.
At the invitation of Pope Francis, she also visited Vatican City and held meetings with the Pope and Secretary State of Vatican City Cardinal Pietro Paroline.
