Police interrogate director, actor of ‘Boishommo’
Police’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit members are interrogating the director and actor of misogynistic short film "Boishommo" (discrimination). Hayat Mahmud directed the film while Sabbir Arnob acted in it. The duo was called in for quizzing on Wednesday after a number of women complained against the short film.

Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Nazmul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune: “We called the two men for interrogation following complaints by some women. “During the interrogation, they told us that the film was produced by 'Hurricane Production' owner Ashiqur Rahman. Ashiqur stays in US.” “They have submitted a written apology. They will be making a video apologizing for the film and asking people not to get encouraged by it.” Recently, "Boishommo" was uploaded to Youtube. It portrays women smoking in a negative light. The subject matter of the short film gave rise to a controversy on social media.
