The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) day is being observed on Wednesday with holding several programmes at its Pilkhana headquarters.
BGB director general Maj Gen Abul Hossain hoisted regimental flag at the headquarters at 8 am and placed floral wreaths at "Simanto Gourab" to pay respects to the Liberation War martyrs at 8:15 am.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the parade programme as the chief guest at 10 am.
A 15-member Indian Border Security Force (BSF), led by its director general Sh Krishan Kumar Sharma, and a six-member Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) team, led by its commander Police Brig Gen Myint Toe, are scheduled to present at the parade programme for the first time.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on this occasion.
