5 members of a Bangladeshi family perish in Kuwait fire accident

Five Bangladeshi nationals, belonging to the same family, have died after the compressor of an air conditioner exploded at a residential building in Kuwait. The deceased are Rokeya Begum, her children Fahad, Imad, Jamila and Namila. Kandigaon village of Moulvibazar district. Kamalganj UNO Mohammad Mahmudul Hoque confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday. The incident took place at Salmiat area around 5pm on Monday.
The incident took place at Salmiat area around 5pm on Monday | CourtesyJoynal Abedin, a freedom fighter of Kandigaon village, said: “Junayed Mia has been living in Kuawait with his family for the last 15 years. “They died of suffocation after the explosion.” He said Junayed was not present in the house when the incident took place. The bodies have been kept at Kuwait’s Mubarak Al Kabir Hospital. The freedom fighter also said Junayed’s brothers live in US and UK with their families. Kamalganj UP Chairman Abdul Hannan said Junayed mother leaves in the village.
