Piaggio, better known through its scooter brand Vespa, is officially coming to Bangladesh, reports the Hindu.
According to a top executive, Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd (PVPL), which manufactures two wheelers and commercial vehicles in India, is planning to export these products to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh shortly.
“We are already exporting to Nepal and South America. We are now gearing [up] to export scooters and CVs to Nepal and Bangladesh,” Diego Graffi, MD & CEO, PVPL, said. About 10% of its production is exported, he said.
Graffi said although the company's scooters are sold at a premium price, they have always been well accepted.
“We are very happy with our performance and are looking forward with a positive view,” he added.
