Bangladeshi wins Forbes' 'Under 30 Impact Challenge'
A Bangladeshi man won the first-ever “Under 30 Impact Challenge” for his company at the Forbes Under 30 Summit in Boston, USA on Monday. Minhaj Chowdhury, cofounder and CEO of Drinkwell, has won $500,000 – beating “some tough competition,” Forbes reports. Drinkwell's technology provides more than one million litres of safe drinking water to over a quarter million people, with zero reported cases of arsenicosis or fluorosis, reports Forbes. The company has generated 500 jobs thus far. Minhaj also earned a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2015. According to Forbes, Drinkwell qualifies for up to $250,000 in investment from The Rise Fund, and a $250,000 media grant from Forbes. The company will also receive consulting from The Bridgespan Group – a nonprofit focused on social entrepreneurs.
