Awami League general secretary and Transport Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said China and Russia have shown their true colour over the Rohingya crisis.
"On one side China and Russia are promising relief for the Rohingya refugees, and on the other side they are backing the Myanmar junta government who are committing genocide against Rohingya people,” Obaidul said speaking during his visit to Dhakeshwari Temple Friday morning to exchange greetings with the Hindu community.
Claiming that Bangladesh does not need relief from big countries to feed the Rohingya, but their support in finding a permanent solution to the crisis, he said: "It is a matter of great regret that United Nations Security Council has failed to stand beside the Rohingya peole."
Obaidul also hoped that China and Russia will change their stance on the issue for the sake of humanity.
The minister visited Dhakeshwari Temple as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked him to visit the temple exchange greetings with Hindu community.
He urged all people to pray for Sheikh Hasina.
