Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is keeping up with her office tasks in Bangladesh despite being in the US for the 72nd UN General Assembly (UNGA)
According to Ihsanul Karim, her press secretary, PM Hasina is maintaining round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and digitally clearing urgent files.
"She is always in contact with us and issuing necessary directives to the officials concerned. On Monday, she digitally disposed of nine electronic files and seven files on Sunday. We are mailing her all urgent digital documents which require her attention,” the press secretary said.
He added: "We are taking advantage of the digitisation initiatives introduced by the prime minister.”
Sheikh Hasina reached Washington from New York on Friday afternoon after attending the 72nd session of the UNGA.
After staying in Washington for a week, the premier will leave for home on September 29. She will return home on October 2 via London.
Sheikh Hasina arrived in New York on September 17 to attend the 72nd UNGA session.
