Bangladesh celebrates Eid-ul-Azha
Eid-ul-Azha, the second most important festival for Muslims worldwide, is being celebrated across the nation with due pomp and circumstance. After morning prayers, the ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals begun, emulating prophet Ibrahim's gesture to sacrifice his son to prove his piety to Allah. Dhaka's major prayer was held at the National Eidgah near the Supreme Court grounds while the largest prayer in the country was held as usual at Sholakia in Kishoreganj.
