Bangla Tribune, one of the fastest-growing online news portals in Bangladesh, is celebrating its third anniversary.
Accountability and responsible journalism has helped the internet-only newspaper gain readers' trust since May 13, 2014.
Bangla Tribune Editor Zulfiqer Russell says publishing news only after verification has been the newspaper's core principle since its inception. It has stayed away from competing with other newspapers in terms of speed of delivery and has rather focused on ensuring that every aspect of the news is covered properly.
Before delivering news to the readers, the newspaper, he says, scrutinises an incident from every possible angle, analyses it and tries to find answers to all possible questions that may arise.
“The Bangla Tribune is still pursuing the same goals,” he adds.
Kazi Anis Ahmed, the newspaper's publisher, says the online newspaper does not simply celebrate its success through the annual celebration.
“First and foremost, we celebrate the courage and efficiency of our reporters who work really hard every day, and often take risks, to deliver to you what's important."
“We celebrate the perseverance and judgement of the whole team – from the editor to the administrative officers – who present important contents before our readers. And we celebrate our readers, who give importance to our work and accompany us in gradually becoming stronger with every click,” he added.
