Two aircraft cleaners of Dhaka airport have been rewarded for their integrity by Customs Intelligence on Wednesday.
During a routine deep cleaning of a US Bangla aircraft on May 1, Abdul Quader, 29, and Almas Hossain, 38, discovered a package under one of the seats. The package contained 60 gold bars, weighing a total of 7kg, which are approximately worth Tk3.5 crore.
On discovering the package, Abdul and Almas informed the airline authorities who then handed it over to Customs Intelligence.

The National Board of Revenue Chairman Md Nojibur Rahman awarded Abdul and Almas with a crest and certificate of appreciation each for their contribution toward the prevention of smuggling and for their moral integrity.
The ceremony was arranged at the Customs Intelligence headquarter conference hall on Wednesday afternoon.
“Such displays of integrity are rare and we hope it will set an example for the other employees,” said a Customs Intelligence source.
