A newborn girl, who was rescued from a dustbin 36-day ago, has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Anisha died while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Sunday night.
Divisional Head of Newborn Department Prof Dr Monirsha Banarjee said: “The baby was suffering from several complications since her birth and weighed very low.
“We named her Anisha. We tried everything but could not save her.”
The newborn was rescued from a dustbin in Nobaberbagh Beribadh area on March 11.
Passerby Bipob noticed the baby who was wrapped in polythene and informed the police.
Later, she was admitted to the hospital.
