Security beefed up at airports
The Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) has responded to Friday's suicide blast at RAB’s Ashkona camp by beefing up security measures at airports across the country. “We didn't issue any alert, but have taken extra precautions at the airports to ensure there's no security breach,” CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Ehsanul Gani Choudhury told the Dhaka Tribune.

“Additional law enforcers have already been deployed at Dhaka Airport as per the instruction from authorities following the attack,” APBn ASP Tarik Ahmed said. Meanwhile, red alert has been issued for all jails across Bangladesh. The security clampdowns follow the attack by a suicide bomber near a temporary camp of police’s elite force Rapid Action Battalion in Ashkona Hajj Camp area of Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
