The director general of the Department of Immigration and Passports and the managing director of Federal Express signed the contract on behalf of their respective organisations. Minister Kamal said Bangladeshi nationals abroad usually receive their MRPs in two to three months after submitting the applications, as the passports are sent via diplomatic channel. However, in light of the reports of harassment filed by the passport seekers, changes are being made. He said the government has undertaken initiatives to eliminate the hassle and introduce online verification process for efficiency, reports UNB. In addition, the home minister said the government has taken initiative to launch e-passport services to root out corruption in the passport providing service.
