Palak: Govt keen to work with MIT
The ICT Minister said: "MIT is one the best research institutes for the digital revolution in the world. The advance cutting edge research is taking place in MIT Connection Science in the areas of artificial intelligence, deep learning, big data, internet of things (IoT) and other frontier technologies. We are keen to have an effective and sustainable partnership with MIT." Zunaid Ahmed Palak made this comment on Saturday while addressing a workshop on ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Digital Age’ as chief guest, reports BSS. Reiterating government's commitment to realise Digital Bangladesh and achieve middle- income status within 2021 by leveraging ICT, the state minister said the government has undertaken a pioneering initiative titled Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) under the revolutionary startup Bangladesh initiative. "This aims to create a successful innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital ecosystem. It will help create and foster partnerships among industry, academia and the government to stimulate innovation, sustain transformational efforts, and promote Bangladesh as a global hub for novel startups," Palak added. Additional secretaries of ICT Division Harunur Rashid, Partho Prothim Deb, and Shushanto Kumar Shaha, DG of ICT Directorate Banomali Bhoumik, chief strategic advisor of ICT Division Jamil Azher and other senior officials of ICT Division innovators and related stakeholders were also present in the event.
