BCL man assaults former SUST student
After the incident on Friday, the former student filed a written complaint to the university proctor. He claimed that the accused BCL activist, Shihab Shahriar Rahat, carried out an unprovoked attack on him near the Shaheed Minar. Shihab, who is a follower of SUST unit BCL Vice-President Abu Sayeed Akanda, ruled out the allegation, claiming, “I never behaved rudely with anyone on the campus.” Proctor Jahid Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune that he would recommend proper action against the persons involved in the attack. The BCL vice-president could not be reached over phone.
