She flew to her home district on Wednesday. “We brought her here as part of the treatment to improve her mental state,” her brother Shahin Ahmed told reporters. “She will stay here for a few days.” Khadiza taken to her village home in the sadar upazila's Hausa village from the airport. Former Shahjalal University of Science and Technology unit Chhatra League leader Badrul attacked the second-year undergraduate student with a meat cleaver on the MC College campus on October 3. He tried to flee after indiscriminately hacking her but locals and college students caught him and handed him over to police. Badrul has confessed to his crimes. SUST has already expelled him for life. Khadiza's uncle filed a case with Shah Poran police a day after the attack. Police pressed charges against Badrul at Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The victim is scheduled to testify in the case on February 26. She was initially treated at Dhaka's Square Hospital and later shifted to the CRP. Her condition has improved much, doctors said.
