'Suspected explosive device' recovered from Bogra-bound train
Local Awami League (AL) leaders and activists were demonstrating over the murder of MP Liton. They had called a half-day strike and stopped a train from Lalmonirhat to Santahar station  at Bamondanga railway station. Protesters noticed an unusual object taped to a wheel of the train. Further inspection determined it was an unidentified object wrapped in black tape with two red wires sticking out. The half-day strike had already had the BGB and police on alert in the district, the bomb alert summoned them to the station. Police suspect the device, if it is an explosive, could explode if the train resumed running. Gaibandha Assistant Superintendent of Police Rezanur Rahaman said the police have cordoned off the area and began taking measures to dispose of the “bomb”. Additional security forces have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward situation.
