Christmas comes with the spirit of a new beginning, forgiveness, and peace. Christians from around the country celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ amid festal hues and Christmas bells on Sunday.
Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel adorned their lobby and the Café Bazar restaurant with Christmas decorations for a week – Christmas trees, edible goodies and fairy lights created a positive and celebratory environment.
Hundreds of children and their parents enjoyed their time with Santa Claus and his friends who showered the little ones with gifts. Sonargaon used their 22,000 sqft premise known as “Oasis” to host the Christmas celebration.
Seven-year-old Farha was running around in excitement and playing with other children, as she waited for Santa Claus to bring her gifts – Santa came, ringing a bell, alerting all the little ones. Farha said with a grin, “I enjoyed being here in the huge place as there is no playground in Elephant Road where I live.”
Dhaka Puppet Theatre performed two plays named Lichu Chor and Matro Ekti which were intended to entertain the children with cute plots with moral messages.
Asmot Ali and his 30-year old monkey kept most of the children busy with the “monkey dance” and later, they enjoyed a magic show by Arif Asgar at the poolside as DJ Liton performed live music.
Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel has also gave out Christmas goodies for children and had a choir performing Christmas carols. A gingerbread house stood out amid the buffet refreshments provided. Over 200 children visited with their families.
