Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman Hiru fixed the date on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, the court recorded the statement of Consultant Neurosurgeon of Dhaka’s Square Hospital Dr A M Rezaus Sattar.
A total of 33 people have given their deposition in the attempt to murder case filed over the attack on Khadiza, a student of Sylhet Government Women's College.
Assistant Public Prosecutor Mahfuzur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune: “Dr Rezaus explained Khadiza’s physical condition during his deposition.
“The court set January 8 for next hearing and asked Khadiza to testify on the day.”
Khadiza was shifted to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) in Savar on November 28 for therapy and rehabilitation.
Khadiza, 23, was stabbed repeatedly by Badrul on her way home from examination on October 3.
On November 8, police submitted the charge sheet in the case accusing Badrul Alam. Later, court accepted the charge sheet on November 15.
