It was centered at 6 am Sunday about 1270 kms southwest of Chittagong port, 1220 kms southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 1155 kms southwest of Mongla port and 1150 kms southwest of Payra port, according to latest bulletin of the met office.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction.

The met office also have advised country’s four maritime ports -- Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra -- to keep hoisted distant warning signal number two.
All fishing boat and trawler over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
