Agami Education Foundation holds second Fundraising Event

The second fundraising event of Agami Education Foundation (AEF) was held on Friday 21 October 2016 at 4 pm at the Dhaka Residential Model College auditorium, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific was the chief guest while Ms Bitopi Das Chowdhury, Country Head of corporate affairs, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh was present as the special guest.IMG_8367The event started with the welcome note of Professor Dr. M Mosihuzzaman, President, AEF who briefly described the history and the ongoing projects and programs of AEF. He also read the message from Dr. Sabir Majumder, President, Agami Inc. (USA) to the audiences. After the welcome note and the president’s message, Nafisa Khanam, Executive Director of AEF briefly presented the activities of AEF focusing on the future goals and targets. She also requested the audiences to contribute financially and/or through volunteer work.IMG_8333Ms Bitopi Das Chowdhury, in her speech, addressed AEF’s activities ‘inspiring’ and said that she feels proud to be a part of the initiative. Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury has been involved with volunteer social work throughout his life and inspired the youth to work for the under privileged children. Thus,appreciated AEF’s contribution in the education sector of Bangladesh by saying that a lot of children are now getting the benefit of education because of the wonderful initiatives of AEF.DSC_0167Finally, Dr. Tazkera Khanom, the Director of Finance thanked all the guests, executive members, employees and volunteers for their contribution to AEF and its activities. The event ended with a cultural program led by Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya and performed by students of two Agami-supported schools- ‘Alok Shikkhaloy’ and ‘Shurer Dhara’.DSC_0401Agami Education Foundation (AEF), a sister organization of Agami Inc. founded by Bangladeshi individuals living in the USA is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and secular organization dedicated to improve education of underprivileged children in Bangladesh. Presently AEF is supporting a good number of schools in Bangladesh in partnership with Khan Academy, Grameenphone, Ministry of ICT and National Science Debate Competition with funds generated from donations of individual and organizations as it continuously expand its activities throughout Bangladesh.DSC_0323Agami is a non-profit organization, dedicated to promote education for the underprivileged children in Bangladesh. Agami was founded in USA in 2003, and Agami Education Foundation is a sister organization with offices in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Agami works with primary and high schools across Bangladesh. In addition to providing basic support to ensure an academically enriching and welcoming environment in these schools, Agami firmly believes in bringing the latest innovations in education technology to the underprivileged children in Bangladesh. Agami’s partnership with Khan Academy is focused on this objective.
