“There will not remain any scope of time extension for the tannery owners after the deadline. This is last benchmark for the job,” said Amir Hossain Amu.
The minister made the statement during a visit to Bangladesh BSCIC industrial city tannery in Harindhara area of Savar's Hemayetpur on Sunday noon.
He also said if the tanneries would not abide by the December 30 deadline, the government will disconnect their gas and power lines from the next day. However, the unfinished works in Savar tannery will also be completed within the period.
He was accompanied by Industries Ministry Secretary Mosharraf Hoaain Bhuiyan and a team of local tannery owners.
