Family sources confirmed that the burial was completed on Wednesday around 4.35pm.
Around 3.51pm, the poet’s body was brought there from Dhaka by a helicopter. Md Nurul Amin, deputy commissioner of Kurigram district, and Md Zafar Ali, general secretary of district Awami League, along with others received the body from Cultural Affair Minister Assaduzzaman Nur.
Syed Haq’s body was kept there until 4.20pm so that people and different organisations can pay tribute. Later, his fourth janaza was held on the college premises around 4.22pm where people from all walks of life of the district congregated.
Earlier, thousands of people including President Abdul Hamid, gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar to pay the last tribute to prolific writer and poet Syed Shamsul Haq around 11.15am.

Besides, ministers, lawmakers, poets and prominent cultural dignitaries joined there as well to pay the last respect.
Around 11:15am Wednesday, the poet’s body was brought there from Bangla Academy. President Abdul Hamid paid respect after 15 minutes.
Haq’s body was kept there till 1pm so that common people and different organisations can cast their respects.

Earlier, his first janaza was held on Channel i premises in Tejgaon around 10:15am in which the private TV channel’s journalists and the poet’s family members as well as scores of people from the cultural sector joined.
The poet wished to be buried in the compound of Kurigram Government College, his family members said.
Syed Shamsul Haq died at a hospital in Dhaka Tuesday evening after suffering from lung cancer. He was 81.
