Robbers kill Bangladeshi freedom fighter in LA

Deceased Mohammad Abul Kalam was from Batakandi village under Titas upazila of Comilla district. He lived in USA with his wife and son and daughter. CCTV footage shows that Abul Kalam, who was In-charge of a liquor store, was closing up the shop when two masked gunmen held him up at gunpoint and demanded money around Saturday midnight (LA Time). The gunmen shot him dead as he refused. Los Angeles police is trying to identify the criminals from the footage. Abul Kalam was a freedom fighter and fought for country during the Liberation War. He had worked at BTV and the advertising agency Bitopi after the Liberation War. He also resided in Japan for a few years before moving to the United States.
