The government will build 18 residential towers at different places of the country for the sake of security of members and officers of the police and their families, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said.
The home minister made the disclosure in the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday while replying to a starred question from treasury bench member M Golam Mostafa Biswas, reports BSS.
In this regard a project titled 'Construction of 18 Residential Towers' under funding of Annual Development Programme (ADP) is now under process with the Planning Commission, he said.
Kamal informed the House that in the first phase the residential towers will be built in Dhaka, Chittagong, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Sylhet and Comilla.
Construction of eight towers in Dhaka City under revenue budget is now going on, he added.
