RU teacher 'commits suicide'
Police have recovered the body of Aktar Jahan Jolly, teacher of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) department of Rajshahi University, from her campus quarters on Friday. Associate professor Jolly used to live in room-303 of university's bachelors’ quarters named Jubery Bhaban. She got separated with her husband Tanveer Ahmad, ex-chairman of MCJ department three years ago. Satil Siraj, chairman of MCJ department said: “Informed by her son, who lives in Dhaka for studies, residents of the dormitory and the proctor of the university with the help of police broke into her room around 4pm and found her body lying in bed.” Later, she was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 5pm. Mahinul Islam, on duty doctor of Rajshahi Medical College said: “The teacher was already dead when she was brought to hospital.” Officer-in charge of Motihar police station Humayun Ahmed said no one had filed complaint in this connection yet. The autopsy of the dead body will be conducted on Saturday.” Jolly in her “suicide note”, published in Bangla Tribune, said: “No one is responsible for my death.
