First hajj flight leaves for Jeddah

The fight took off Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:05am on Thursday. After inaugurating the fight, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said the procedures of this year's hajj has been management quite well. Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director Mosaddek Ahmed and other high official of aviation ministry were present at the airport to bid farewell to the passengers. Biman will operate a total of Hajj 278 flights. Off them, 144 flights would be for pre-hajj operations and 134 flights will be for the post-hajj operations. A marketing official of Biman said the national flag carrier will carry around 51,000 hajj pilgrims while 50,758 would be carried by Saudia Airlines. On August 3, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Ashkona hajj camp with the aim to provide the pilgrims a better residence facilities even before they leave for Saudi Arabia.
