Five members of a new militant outfit were arrested from a house in Hazaribagh area Wednesday morning, RAB 2 Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruhul Amin told the Dhaka Tribune.
According to the elite force, one of the arrestees, identified as Maulana Md Rashidul Alam, is the chief coordinator of the outfit.

Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of Legal and Media Wing of RAB, told the Dhaka Tribune that acting on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted the raid Wednesday morning and detained them from a house in the area.
A large number of radical books and training materials had been recovered from the scene, he added.
RAB said they would brief the media in the afternoon about the latest arrests.

Bangladesh has witnessed a jump in attacks on secular writers, religious minorities and foreigners in recent months. Although international terrorist groups have reportedly claimed responsibilities for the attacks, the government maintains these are works of "homegrown" militants.
Last week, the law enforcement agencies busted a militant hideout in Dhaka’s Kallyanpur.
