Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque has declared a bounty of Tk20 lakh each on the masterminds of Gulshan and Sholakia attacks
The IGP announced the bounty at a press briefing held at Police Headquarters in Dhaka around 12pm on Tuesday.
He said anyone who gives the police information on any of the militants will be awarded Tk20 lakh.
Later on Tuesday, police have released photographs, permanent addresses, last whereabouts, passport numbers of the two top militants, Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury and sacked Maj Syed Ziaul Haque, for each of whom they earlier announced a bounty of Tk20 lakh.
Asked about Hasnat Reza Karim, he said: “We are looking into Hasnat's records and investigating his activities during the Gulshan attack. He is a suspect. The moment we get any concrete evidence against him, he would be taken to custody."
Former North South University teacher Hasnat has been in police custody for a month.
At least 20 people including 17 foreigners were killed in the attack launched by militants on Holey Artisan Bakery. On July 16 the law enforcers confirmed that they were interrogating Hasnat in connection with the July 1 Gulshan attack.
A militant attack on a police checkpost near the Sholakia Eid ground on July 7 left two policemen and a woman dead.
