US Embassy launches anti-fraud campaign

Update : 14 Jun 2016, 11:05 PM
The US Embassy has launched an anti-fraud campaign to protect Bangladeshi visa applicants. Consul General Elizabeth Gourlay of the US Embassy introduced a video in this regard during a press conference held yesterday at the embassy to share tips on applying for US visas. The video was produced in an effort to educate Bangladeshis about visa fraud and scams. She said: “Each year, thousands of Bangladeshis successfully apply for a US visa. We want to ensure that all potential applicants can avoid the scams and fraud, so we have produced this video.” The message is simple and applies to all visa applicants: tell the truth, fill out your own application, and if you have questions, ask the embassy. In her remarks, Gourlay stressed the importance the embassy places on providing high standards of customer service to visa applicants and noted that tourists, students, business travellers, and immigrants from Bangladesh are valued by the US government.
