The cabinet yesterday set office hours during the month of Ramadan from 9am to 3:30pm, with a 15-minute break at 1:15pm. The schedule was decided at the cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. The cabinet also approved a draft law that doubled company fees. Fees under Section 2 of the Company Act 1994 have been doubled, Cabinet Secretary Md Shafiul Alam told journalists after the meeting. “With the new fee structure, the annual revenue from company fees is expected to rise to Tk150 crore, up from the previous Tk70 crore,” he said. The cabinet also approved a visa exemption agreement with Kuwait, the fifteenth country with which Bangladesh has such agreement.
