Sufi Art Group holds first exhibition in Bangladesh
An exhibition by Sufi Art Group is being held at Begum Restaurant and Gallery for the first time in Bangladesh. Organized by Art Unlimited and Shafi-Nur, it offers artists the opportunity to exhibit the core concept and philosophy of Sufism. The organizers say: "Sufism is not confined to one place. The creator created the world out of love and all came from the light of Allah. This is the key concept of creation. Though, we have divided ourselves by many theories within the capitalist economic system, we can break all barriers to love by enlightening our activities and souls. Artwork could be the source to the illuminated soul!" The exhibition is sponsored by Begum Restaurant and Begum Publishers. It is dedicated to Auliya Khwaza Baba Moinuddin Chisti (Ra). Renowned Bangtladeshi and international Sufi artists participated in the event. Artists from Shanto-Mariam University and Dhaka University took part in day-long workshops and conference on Friday (March 2). Bishwajit Goswami, Sanjay Dey Ripon and Alok Roy were the chief guests in the conference. Bishwajit Goswam delivered the opening speech: "I've done a lot of work with the concept of soul. Purity of soul affects every chapter of life. If you follow the light, you will enjoy every moment of life." The exhibition started on February 26 and will end on March 11.
