Here is the hard-hitter – 266,000 hours of content are watched on Netflix every minute on the internet in 2018
The internet encompasses so much today that it would not be far off the mark to say everything is happening on the internet.
An infographic prepared by Cumulus Media visualizes a summary of staggering numbers about what people do on the internet every minute.
Every minute, about 3.7 million search queries are made on Google.
On Facebook, 973,000 user accounts are logged in per minute.
On YouTube, 4.3 million videos are viewed every minute.
One would expect the high numbers from Google, Facebook, and YouTube. But Instagram has also seen a rapid rise in activity this year as there are 174,000 active users every minute.
Facebook’s other asset, WhatsApp, sees 38 million messages sent per minute.
The internet’s favourite graphic format – GIFs- are sent in copious amounts. Only on Facebook Messenger, 25,000 GIFs are sent every minute.
Here is the hard-hitter – 266,000 hours of content are watched on Netflix every minute on the internet in 2018, which means nearly 16 million people are watching Netflix at any given time. That is nearly four times higher from 2017 when only 70,017 hours were watched per minute.
