4 new border haats in Meghalaya on the cards

India has finalised a plan to construct four new border haats along with Bangladesh-Meghalaya frontier soon. "The Centre (central government of India) has allocated Rs18.60cr for the construction project," Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma announced in a rally, organised on the occasion of India’s 71st Independence Day. The haats will be constructed at Bholaganj and Rynku in East Khasi Hills, Nalikat in South West Khasi Hills and Shibbari in South Garo Hills of Meghalaya. Meghalaya and Bangladesh share a 443km border with each other.
