Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's party, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will get 37 out of Tamil Nadu's 39 parliamentary seats, reports said.
This absolute walk-over is giving her the biggest chunk of Lok Sabha after the BJP and the Congress, according to NDTV's update on Friday night.
She said her own party's result was “historic, unparalleled in history” because it swept the state without an ally.
However, she congratulated the new prime minister, saying: “I wish the new prime minister well.”
She thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for making her party lead above others in the state which made AIADMK the third largest party in the parliament.
She said her party had achieved this victory on its own without the support of any partners.
She also said her party would endeavour to fulfil all the promises given in the election manifesto.
She further wished that the new government would be friendly towards Tamil Nadu.
