Ahead of Sunday’s high voltage India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match, Indian yoga guru Ramdev has termed it to be against the national interest and "Rashtradharma" (state religion) as the "game of cricket and the game of terror cannot be played at the same time", reports NDTV.
The bizarre statement came was he was talking to reporters at the Nagpur airport on Saturday.
When asked the blockbuster clash of the two archrivals on a UAE cricket pitch amid growing border tensions, he said: "I feel that the cricket match under such a situation is against ''Rashtradharma '' and not in the interest of the nation. The game of cricket and the game of terror cannot be played at the same time".
This is not the first time he made such a controversial comment. Earlier this year, doctors in India strongly criticized him for his arguable statements against modern medicine amid the pandemic.
Prior to that, Ramdev had claimed that tens of thousands died of Covid-19 after taking modern medicines, mocking patients for trying to get oxygen cylinders.
As pressure grew, he was forced to withdraw his remarks.
