Thai Airways will resume its flight operations on the Bangkok-Dhaka route from January 1, 2022.
The national flag carrier airline of Thailand will operate three weekly flights on the route. The flights will leave the Thai capital on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In line with the Thai government's decision to reopen the country to tourists from November 1, the airline will resume full service on 36 foreign routes to destinations in Europe, Asia and Australia from October 31, the Bangkok Post reported on Thursday.
Regular Thai Airways flights on the Bangkok-Dhaka route have remained suspended since March last year owing to the travel restrictions induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Travellers from all countries, including Bangladesh, are now eligible to enter Thailand through the Sandbox Scheme.
Moreover, the Thai authorities have also shortened the quarantine period for fully vaccinated tourists.
Travellers fully inoculated with vaccines approved by Thailand at least 14 days before leaving for the Southeast Asian country have to stay quarantined for seven days.
List of vaccines authorized by the Thai Ministry of Public Health include AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Sinopharm — the four shots currently being administered in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, travellers who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated have to undergo a 10-day quarantine.
