BSF seizes large numbers of yaba pills

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 10,055 yaba pills from the bordering village of Miyapara under Tripura’s Sipahijala district.

The pills seized on Tuesday have a market value of Rs50.27 lakh.

Based on intelligence inputs, a BSF contingent of 74th battalion had laid a trap near Miyapara village. At the same time they noticed movements of some smugglers who were trying to get into Bangladesh’s territory with some packets containing the contraband drugs.

The BSF troops tried to stop and apprehend the smugglers. However, taking advantage of the thick jungle, they fled.

While searching the area, BSF troops found 51 small packets which contained 10,055 yaba pills.

The seized pills were later handed over to the authorities of the Madhupur police station.
