No appointment required for Indian visa applications in Khulna, Jessore

As part of the ongoing initiatives by the Indian high commission in Dhaka to further liberalize, streamline, and ease access to Indian visas for Bangladesh nationals, the High Commission of India has decided to accept applications from walk-ins in Khulna and Jessore.

Under this initiative, visa applicants can directly submit their documents to Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs) in Khulna and Jessore without prior appointment from June 11 onwards, according to a press release issued by the high commission on Thursday.

Applications will be accepted from 8am to 12pm at the IVACs.

This is an extension of pilot initiatives taken at IVACs in Chittagong since July 9 last year, Rajshahi and Rangpur since September 10, Mirpur since October 10, and Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Barisal since May 20 this year.

The other existing walk-in schemes for submission of visa applications for non-tourist visas will continue as before. Separate counters for tourist visas for senior citizens and freedom fighters will also continue their operations as before.

These measures are aimed at easing access to Indian visas and strengthening the people-to-people connection between the two neighbouring countries, according to the media release.
