Myanmar may implement Kofi Annan, Maungdaw Commissions’ recommendations

The Myanmar government on Tuesday formed a 15-member committee to implement recommendations from the Kofi Annan-led Advisory Commission on Rakhine State and the Maungdaw Investigation Commission led by Vice-President U Myint Swe. The country’s President’s Office announced that the committee will be chaired by Myanmar Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Minister U Win Myat Aye and co-chaired by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu. The announcement was published on the Myanmar State Counsellor’s Office Facebook page. State Counsellor’s Office Deputy Minister U Khin Maung Tin will be the committee’s vice chairperson, according to the announcement.
